Tetra Tech, a global leader in high-end consulting and engineering services, is growing its Building Services team in Leicester and is looking for a talented
Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding group. With a strong UK-wide presence, Tetra Tech delivers innovative mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across sectors such as Healthcare, Education,mercial, and Defence. The Leicester office plays a key role in delivering technically challenging and sustainable projects across the region.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of building services projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality mechanical engineering solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Designing mechanical systems (HVAC, public health, etc.) from concept topletion
2. Producing detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
3. Supporting senior engineers with site surveys, inspections, and construction stage duties
4. Coordinating with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines
5. Ensuringpliance with current building regulations and sustainability standards
6. Participating in project meetings and contributing to technical discussions
7. Developing your technical skills with guidance from experienced engineers
What you'll need to succeed
8. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
9. Experience working on mechanical building services projects within a consultancy or contractor environment
10. Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevp, IES, and NBS
11. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
12. A proactive and solution-focused mindset
13. Full UK driving licence (preferred)
