Summary: The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing long-term goals. They develop skills to handle clinical contingencies, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to care providers.
Responsibilities include delivering nursing care based on the nursing process, addressing patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs, administering medications, monitoring effects, documenting care, and educating patients and families.
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred), at least 1 year of related experience (or new graduate), current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certification. New hires attend orientation, are precepted, and must complete annual competencies.
Credentialing requirements have specified grace periods, with additional certifications (PALS, TNCC, NRP, etc.) needed within designated timeframes.
Work schedule is TBD; position is per diem as needed.
