A supportive SEN school in Milton Keynes is looking for a confident and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, focusing on building strong relationships, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour strategies to help pupils re-engage with learning. In this role, you’ll be working closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour, providing consistent support on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils develop trust, manage emotions, and access learning in a structured and supportive environment. Responsibilities Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and engaging lessons Support behaviour management using a calm and consistent approach Encourage emotional regulation and social development Requirements Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour A calm, resilient, and patient approach Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Ability to build rapport and set clear boundaries Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority and all candidates will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and referencing.
