Job Purpose
Shift‑based mechanical and electrical role, supporting process operations and maintenance activities across the site. You will work as part of an engineering team, led by the shift performance manager on shift, and report directly to the Engineering Lead. The shift pattern is a 28‑day rotating schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, two days on, three days off).
Core Accountabilities
* Carry out maintenance work on machinery and equipment, including packaging, milling, and product handling equipment as well as site infrastructure.
* Troubleshoot and perform practical fault‑finding on plant, mechanical, and electrical systems.
* Install and commission new plant or modifications as appropriate.
* Conduct planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance.
* Report all engineering activities in the appropriate format into a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
* Proven track record of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis, maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Experience of working in a lean operating environment, preferably FMCG.
* Experience of working in a team of varying disciplines and skill levels.
* ONC / HNC in Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeship.
* Understanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment and producing food and feed.
* Ability to work as an individual and with groups.
* Ability to effectively balance urgent and important tasks.
