Job Description
As part of the AECOM Advisory Services business unit, our Strategic Procurement team ensures a thoroughly developed and market‑tested procurement strategy. This is the cornerstone for project success and secures the right supply‑chain partners in a commercial relationship grounded in aligned objectives.

Here’s what you’ll do:
* Provide high‑quality procurement advice and support to AECOM’s infrastructure clients on flagship projects.
* Lead and/or support sector‑leading projects and programmes as the strategic procurement subject‑matter expert.
* Contribute to and shape our future service offering, driving continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with AECOM colleagues to deliver quality outcomes, providing high‑value multi‑discipline solutions.

Key responsibilities of the role
* Advise on procurement, including understanding client drivers and project success factors, and lead them through the process of designing the optimum delivery model, contract strategy, commercial model and route to market.
* Manage the competitive procurement process: market engagement, supplier shortlisting, tender document development, tender management, evaluation and negotiation.
* Provide commercial advice, category management and performance management.
* Support work‑winning activity, including contributing to proposal documentation.
* Support the development of AECOM’s overall strategic procurement service offering.
Qualifications
* Significant post‑qualification knowledge and experience (7+ years) leading procurement of complex construction and infrastructure projects.
* Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing through to contract management and supplier engagement.
* Proven project / programme management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Awareness of standard form contracts, including NEC.
* Strong people skills and effective communication, able to influence, challenge and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
* Experience in category management and contract management, including advising on Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
* Awareness of procuring under the Public Contract Regulations or equivalent.
