The opportunity:
We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, handling a high volume of IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. The role involves working on rapidly developing IP portfolios of global clients, requiring a global mindset and effective coordination with international teams, counsel, and clients.

Main responsibilities:
1. Support global IP practice on various matters, including:
* Handling trade mark formalities (pre-registration, prosecution, renewal, etc.)
* Preparing client reports independently
* Supporting IP M&A activities, including recordal of assignments and licenses
* Conducting IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases
* Supporting anti-counterfeiting programs, including drafting notices and liaising with infringers
* Performing trade mark searches and watch services
1. Maintain service and process standards by liaising with global teams, managing workload, and ensuring compliance with firm procedures.
Essential criteria:
* Relevant undergraduate degree, 2.1 or above preferred
* Legal background with IP/trademark experience (preferred)
* Authorization to work in the UK
Desirable criteria:
* CITMA qualification (advantageous)
