Base pay range
* Salary- The starting salary is £53,459, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
* The salary is broken down as £50,531 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £55,103. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
As a Junior Software Developer, with a focus on developing and refining our IT Service Management (ITSM) toolsets, you will be involved in providing technical support and expertise to the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) national operations centre: the CSC. You will assist in vital operations and strategic work as the CSC seeks to improve and modernise its ITSM platform and tooling, which is currently an on-premise installation of Service Now.
This role is aligned to the Junior Developer role set out within the Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework (DDAT). You’ll join an existing and mature Applications team located east of Birmingham, with easy access from the M6 and M42 and secure onsite parking. A London office location is also available in West Brompton should this appeal. This is a great opportunity to lead on the realisation of the ITSM tooling strategic roadmap, working to enhance user experience and customer satisfaction, as well as having a degree of autonomy to create benefits and value for practitioners across multidisciplinary teams and locations in the CT network.
Key Tasks
* Liaise with the Service Owner, CSC Working Group, X-Government Service Now Forum and Service Now to comprehend strategic direction of the platform and work to realise benefits and improvement across the enterprise
* Proactively develop and refine current instance in conjunction with existing collaborative partnerships
* Engage in longer term projects as required
* Integration of new releases, patches, services, solutions and infrastructure
* Tactical development of scripts/solutions
* Tactical development of hardware exploits
* Analysis of new and emerging technologies, solutions, devices, and user habits
* Analyse information, performance and apply professional judgement and opinion, with rationale
* Keep abreast and up to date with relevant current affairs issues, technologies and subject matter requirements as required.
