Our client, a UK based multi-utilities infrastructure provider, is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their team. As a Commercial Analyst you’ll provide analytical support and strategic insight to improve planning, procurement, and delivery. Working closely with quantity surveyors, project managers, and the wider business, you’ll analyse performance data, create KPI reports, and support financial tracking on WIP, invoicing, and profitability. Key responsibilities for the Commercial Analyst:
1. Analyse and report on data across finance, procurement, commercial, and operations.
2. Streamline processes across project Cost Value Reconciliations and Work in Progress (WIP).
3. Produce accurate KPI dashboards and reporting packs to track commercial targets.
4. Support senior management by overseeing controls and processes
5. Track and manage asset value data, maintaining accurate records for live projects.
6. Collaborate on pricing strategies, budget control, and cost analysis.
7. Assist with system implementation, including data migration and process design
8. Contribute to continuous improvement, driving commercial awareness and efficiency.
Skills and Experience required for the Commercial Analyst:
9. Experience in the utilities or construction sector with strong commercial acumen
10. Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel (Power BI or other reporting tools a plus)
11. Excellent organisation and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
12. High attention to detail and accuracy with technical or commercial data
13. Clear communicator able to present insights professionally
14. Proactive, inquisitive, and eager to support wider business performance
15. Works well independently and as part of a team
