GSL Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a number of supportive schools across Mansfield, starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with experience in supporting pupils with special educational needs, or for those aspiring to begin a career in education. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), your primary responsibility will be to support students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, communication difficulties, and other learning challenges. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support, helping students to access learning and thrive both academically and socially. Your Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Deliver one-to-one or small group interventions tailored to SEN pupils’ needs Support the implementation of EHCPs and monitor progress Assist with modifying lesson resources to ensure accessibility for all learners Encourage the development of social skills, independence, and confidence Promote a calm and inclusive learning environment Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies Liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals when required Keep detailed records of pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff Prepare and maintain classroom resources and assist with classroom routines Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote student welfare at all times Special Needs TA Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar, in an educational setting A degree in Psychology, SEND, Counselling or a similar field is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of SEN strategies and understanding of various learning difficulties CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) preferred but not essential Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patient, adaptable, and positive attitude towards learning support Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply) If you have the empathy, resilience, and adaptability to thrive in a supportive educational environment, apply today as a SEN Teaching Assistant !
