Tech Lead (Backend/PHP focus)
Hybrid working (flexible) - Manchester Airport office

A skilled backend developer with experience in PHP 7/8 and modern backend patterns will work closely with product owners and architects to determine solutions and maintainable code. You will coach others, research appropriate AWS services and datastores, orchestrate infrastructure with Terraform, and take full responsibility for developing a strategic technological vision. You will lead and manage a software development team in an Agile environment, making technical decisions for the autonomous team.
Essential Skills
* 2+ years of experience as a Technical Lead (ideally back-end focused)
* Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
* Object-Oriented Programming
* REST API and test-driven development
* Good understanding of software design patterns
* Experience leading or managing a team of engineers
* CI/CD or DevOps environment experience
* Object-Oriented Programming with PHP 7/8
* Confident communication skills
Desirable Skills
* Microservices Architecture
* Experience in Typescript and applying TDD/BDD techniques and ensuring team adherence
* AWS development, including DynamoDB and Lambda
* Infrastructure as Code
* Event-Driven Architectures
