We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Anatomical Pathology Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Carrying out routine and advanced post mortem procedures.
2. Communicating technical autopsy information to Consultant Pathologists.
3. Applying empathetic and counselling skills when dealing with bereaved relatives, including explaining post mortem procedures and religious considerations.
4. Dealing with sensitive issues such as explaining post mortem procedures, religious issues, etc.
5. Carrying out post mortem procedures and communicating sensitive information to police, coroner’s officers, pathologists, and Trust staff.
6. Cleaning and maintaining work environment and equipment, and completing all required documentation.
7. Communicating with funeral directors regarding body sizes, release dates, etc.
8. Managing receipt and release of the deceased.
9. Explaining issues related to post-mortem procedures, the Coroner, inquest process, and organ/tissue retention to relatives.
