Position
Logistics Coordinator (temporary) at our office in Hull.
Responsibilities
* Coordinates transportation activities to ensure timely delivery, customer satisfaction and cost control.
* Forecasting daily supply demand in assigned shipping mode, tracking freight due for delivery, performing lane analysis and monitoring planned transportation on loads; providing solutions to load capability challenges and constraints.
* Monitoring import/export accounts; assisting in the obtaining and preparing all necessary documentations in related logistics business.
* Liaise with Hauliers to ensure delivery is effectively coordinated and monitor systems to ensure orders have been dispatched within agreed timescales.
* Manage outbound deliveries, arrange export declarations (if required), prepare and issue accurate documentation for customers, arrange import for DDP (if required).
* Monitor the loading slots for the bulk and pack loading and manage potential disturbances.
* Monitor and review Logistics Service Provider's KPIs and assist in operational review meetings to support the Logistics Manager.
* Log and follow up on Logistics Service Provider related complaints, HSE and food safety incidents, managing claims and associated cost recovery.
* Ensuring Logistics Service Provider cost accruals are accurate and control surcharge management.
* Co-ordination of stock transfer orders to 3rd party external warehouses, stock accuracy, reconciliation of warehouse invoices.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Transport/Logistics Coordinator.
* Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across documentation, scheduling and reporting.
* Proven experience in logistics, supply chain or transportation coordination.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
* Good understanding of transport planning and distribution processes.
* Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues quickly in a fast paced environment.
* Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with suppliers, drivers and internal teams.
* Strong problem solving skills with a proactive, solutions focused approach.
* Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, or import/export processes (desirable).
* Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
