Job Title: Experienced Children's Support Worker – Residential Children's Home

Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Shift Pattern: Includes evenings, weekends, and paid sleep-in shifts

We are a caring and values-driven residential care provider, dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties. Our home in Mickleover (DE23) offers a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or disruption in their lives.
We are now looking to welcome an Experienced Children's Support Worker to join our passionate and professional team.
The Role:
You will play a key part in supporting the children's emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development through consistent, trauma-informed care. This is a hands-on, highly rewarding role where your support can truly change lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with young people
* Support daily routines, including school runs, meals, activities, and bedtime
* Encourage independence and life skills development
* De-escalate and manage challenging behaviours calmly and supportively
* Follow individual care plans and contribute to assessments and reviews
* Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
* Work collaboratively with the wider care team and professionals
* Take part in a rotating shift pattern including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (sleep-in allowance paid)
Requirements:
* Minimum 12 months' experience in a children's residential care setting – Essential
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – or willingness to complete within 18 months
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed approaches
* Ability to build trust and provide consistent emotional support
* Team player with excellent communication and resilience
* Full UK driving licence – preferred but not essential
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
