Overview
We are excited to offer a permanent Carpenter & Joiner opportunity in HMP Manchester, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Saturday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday 08:00 - 16:00. There is a requirement to work 1 in 4 weekends on a rota basis with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
What you will do
* Carry out joinery work to include repairing doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items.
* Be responsible for the joinery workshop - maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness.
* Measure and quote for works.
* Order materials and maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.
What you will bring
* Organisation in work, with attention to detail.
* Manual tool handling.
* Ladder use.
* Level 3 in Joinery & Carpentry is required; however applications may be considered with NVQ level 2.
* Experience in Maintenance.
