Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join our Healthcare team at HMP Lewes, a local remand category B prison in Lewes.
Hours
Monday - Friday
37.5 hours per week
On call at weekends once every couple of months on average
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £68,000 per annum + £4,000 car allowance - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Responsibilities
* provide pro-active management of the healthcare services on site.
* maintain the strategic direction of the service and delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England.
* be responsible for delivering a highly functional clinical service, within the budget, with support from the finance business partner and regional manager.
* form part of the wider prison senior leadership team, working with other key stakeholders to ensure that the contract becomes highly functional, and healthcare services become fully embedded with the prison as a whole.
* ensure agreed standards are achieved by leading, developing and motivating your team ensuring they receive appropriate supervision and performance appraisal.
* be the CQC registered manager and implement internal and external policies and procedures, particularly those with statutory implications
Experience and Qualifications
* Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience and clinical qualification
* Inclusive leadership approach embedding a culture of continuous progression and innovation
* Ability to influence and deliver information to key partners and stakeholders
* Experience as a CQC registered manager, or equivalent registered body
* Experience managing multifaceted budgets
