1:1 Support Worker for a Highly Autistic Year 6 Student
Position: 1:1 Support Worker within an educational setting
Initially 5 mornings per week, progressing to full-time once the child is settled
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Support Worker to provide tailored support to a highly autistic Year 6 student who has not been in education since May 2024. This role is crucial in helping the student reintegrate into the school environment, develop social and academic skills, and reach their full potential.
Provide one-on-one support to the student, both academically and emotionally, to help them engage in classroom activities.
Support the student in developing social skills and improving communication.
Ensure the student's well-being, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met throughout the day.
Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, particularly those with complex needs.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude in supporting the student's development.
Experience in creating and implementing individualised strategies and support plans.
Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable, but not essential.
