Overview
Environmental Practitioner Level 6 Apprentice sought to join an integrated environmental planning team. The role focuses on improving the water environment and managing water resources, using environmental data to inform local priorities and investment. The team provides on-the-job training across water resource and water quality management and supports a blended learning approach with workshops, digital delivery and coaching.

Responsibilities
* Respond to incidents as required; be available to support incident response or business continuity during incidents (additional payment may apply; full training provided).
* Collaborate within the Integrated Environment Planning Team to produce environmental evidence that informs local priorities and investments.
* Work across the team to gain broad experience in water resource and water quality management; handle a wide range of environmental data to understand problems and identify actions needed.
* Participate in on-the-job training and a broader apprentice community, with a dedicated Talent Coach for formal learning.
Qualifications and experience
* Demonstrable interest in the natural world (studies, volunteering, etc.).
* UCAS points requirement: 103 UCAS points; the apprenticeship is a fully funded 53-month program resulting in a degree-level qualification.
* Not suitable for those who already hold a Level 6 (degree) qualification in a similar subject. Those with Level 6 qualifications in an unrelated subject may apply.
* Age: 18 or over (no upper age limit).
* Right to work in the UK and UK residency for at least three years.
* Experience with Excel; willingness to learn databases and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
* Good verbal and written communication skills; effective planning and ability to prioritise to meet deadlines; sound data- and evidence-based decision making.
* Desirable: Full UK Driving Licence.
Details
Base location: Bridgwater or Blandford (flexible working patterns available, including job share). Some travel may be required to attend internal meetings and site visits. Contract and support
Length of contract: Up to 53 months. You will complete an Environmental Practitioner Level 6 Apprenticeship through online learning and remote workshops. Employment offers are subject to acceptance for enrolment with the relevant institution. A minimum number of paid hours are allocated to apprenticeship training with the remainder spent learning on-the-job in the workplace.
