About the Role
Rutherford Care, the healthcare division of the Rutherford Chase Group, is recruiting a Chef Assistant to join a busy care home kitchen in Stone. This is a hands-on role offering long-term stability and responsibility, including running the kitchen independently when required.
Working Pattern
* Rota-based across 7 days (including weekends)
* Typically 35 shifts per week
* 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation and meal service
* Run the kitchen independently in the Chefs absence
* Maintain cleanliness, including washing up duties
* Complete daily logs and ensure compliance paperwork is up to date
* Follow COSHH, Environmental Health, and Health & Safety procedures
* Support stock control and basic ordering
Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience (care, school, or contract catering preferred)
* Ability to work independently and xsngvjr take initiative
* Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
* Willingness to take on responsibility beyond a typical assistant role
* Reliable, hardworking, and flexible
