To install, maintain, repair, and refurbish,pipework, mechanical plant and equipment within the water and wastewater industry. The Mechanical Engineer / Fitter will ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, in compliance with WIMES (Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specifications), client specifications, and health and safety regulations. Job Responsibilities • Install, align, and commission mechanical plant and equipment, including pumps, pipework, valves, actuators, and associated systems. • Carry out pipework installation in a range of materials and sizes, including Ductile Iron, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, UPVC, and ABS. • Diameters from 25mm to 1200mm. • Undertake pipe fitting, fabrication, and assembly in accordance with drawings and specifications. • Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and refurbishment of mechanical assets. • Conduct mechanical fault-finding, diagnostics, and corrective actions. • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and method statements. • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, including safe use of lifting/handling equipment. • Complete job records, maintenance reports, and compliance documentation. • Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and client representatives to support project delivery. • Contribu...
