Join to apply for the Library Assistant - Crowborough role at East Sussex County Council.
Responsibilities
* Staff the customer counter, answer a wide range of enquiries, and maintain our service provision. You will perform routine tasks such as answering phone calls, issuing items to customers, cash handling, and organising files.
* Support library events, such as children’s events over the summer, and weekly events such as Rhymetimes and Storytimes.
* Signpost people to what they are seeking.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Have customer service and communication skills.
* Have ICT skills and an interest in further development.
* Work well in a team.
* Be self-motivated.
* Can undertake manual handling tasks.
* Are willing to learn and undertake training as required.
* Flexible, as you will be required to work at other libraries in East Sussex, for which travel costs from your base are covered.
Work pattern
* Week 1: Mon 12.30pm – 5pm, Tues 11.30am – 2pm, Weds 9.30am – 12:30pm, Thurs 11am – 6pm, Fri 12.30pm – 3pm
* Week 2: Weds 10am – 2pm, Thurs 1.30pm – 4pm, Fri 1pm – 5pm, Sat 10am - 5pm
