About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide targeted support to students with autism and other special educational needs. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help deliver lessons, support personal development, and ensure students can engage fully in school life.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with autism or SEN.
* Assist with classroom activities to help students achieve learning objectives.
* Support social, emotional, and behavioural development in line with individual needs.
* Provide personal care where necessary, maintaining dignity and respect.
* Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure consistent support.
Qualifications
* Experience working with students with autism or SEN in a school or similar setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt to individual student needs and work as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting students.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply) and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
