Residential Support Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and proactive Residential Support Assistant to join our team. You will be working in a small classroom setting with secondary-aged students, many of whom have special educational needs (SEN). Your role will involve providing tailored support in both educational and residential contexts, fostering positive relationships, and helping young people reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support students in small group and 1:1 settings, adapting to their individual learning and emotional needs.
2. Assist with classroom activities, following and reinforcing lesson plans under the guidance of teaching staff.
3. Demonstrate initiative in engaging and motivating students, particularly in a small-class environment.
4. Provide pastoral and emotional support in both educational and residential settings.
5. Encourage independence, resilience, and positive social interaction.
6. Work collaboratively with teachers, care staff, and other professionals to provide a consistent and supportive approach.
7. Contribute to a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.
Essential Requirements
8. Experience working with secondary-aged children.
9. Strong background in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).
10. Ability to adapt and use initiative in dynamic classroom situations.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
