Lead Pharmacist Paediatric Haemaglobinopathies & Gene Therapies

Main duties of the job:
* Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care for children and young people.
* Take part in guideline development and review.
* Help manage drug spend and support cost‑effective prescribing.
* Provide training and teaching for pharmacists and the wider team.
* Get involved in risk management, audit, and quality improvement.
* Support new drug applications.
* Provide clinical and specialist support to the outpatient pharmacy partnership.
* Deputise for the Senior Lead Pharmacist when needed.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Diploma or MSc in clinical pharmacy practice or equivalent.
* BOPA SACT passport accreditation or equivalent experience.
* Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) membership.
* Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG) membership.
* Non‑medical prescriber annotation with GPhC.
Experience
* Post‑registration training and experience in hospital pharmacy including substantial experience in paediatric pharmacy.
* Evidence of experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, ward services and dispensing).
* Evidence of experience in stem cell transplantation.
* Demonstrable use of clinical audit and/or quality improvement to improve practice.
* Previous experience in managing staff and conducting appraisals.
* Evidence of experience in haematology/oncology.
* Financial reporting and management of appropriate clinical medicines expenditure.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
* Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and senior management.
* Computer literacy to effectively use computer systems including Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to analyse and provide valuable insight from drug usage reports.
* Ability to identify and manage clinical and operational risks.
* Microsoft Office applications at an advanced level.
* Communicates best practice both inside and outside the organisation.
* Practice research.
