B&Q Portsmouth welcomes dynamic, customer‑focused individuals to join our team as a Shift Lead. In this role you will support the store’s day‑to‑day operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues.
Overview
Part‑time – 18.5 hours per week, Permanent Contract.
Responsibilities
* Oversee shift operations, ensuring daily store run‑throughs and smooth service.
* Deploy colleagues strategically to meet customer needs and achieve store targets.
* Serve as the first point of contact for customers and staff.
* Maintain a safe workplace, checking for compliance and addressing hazards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong passion for customer service and delivering a positive experience.
* Comfortable working across the store’s full range, not limited to a single area.
* High safety awareness with attention to detail for compliance.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a team‑focused mindset.
* Ability to energise and motivate colleagues, exercising autonomy and rapid decision‑making.
