Division Info

Located in Runcorn, United Kingdom, our newly extended 120,000 sq. ft. facility is a fully integrated site offering comprehensive manufacturing, repair, and overhaul services to the major players in the landing gear industry. Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small to medium sized landing gear systems. As a key part of the Centre of Division, supports several global programs, including Gripen – SAAB, Hawk – BAE Systems, KF21 – Hanwha Aerospace, AW101 – Leonardo Helicopters. With a strong focus on cutting-edge technology, advanced manufacturing processes, and lean techniques, we are committed to delivering high-value, precision-engineered components for complex landing gear systems.


Job Summary

To lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, driving process improvements, equipment reliability, and manufacturing excellence to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production. The role will focus on continuous improvement, new product introduction, and optimising manufacturing processes to meet business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage a team of manufacturing and process engineers.
* Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that support production goals.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
* Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) ensuring seamless transition from design to production.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance).
* Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including OEE, scrap rate, downtime, and throughput.
* Manage budgets, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and resource planning for engineering projects.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Develop engineering talent through coaching, training, and performance management.


Education & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
* Proven experience in manufacturing engineering leadership within a production environment.
* Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
* Experience managing capital projects and process automation.
* Knowledge of CNC machining, assembly processes, or high-volume manufacturing is desirable.
