Electrician
Location: Raynesway, Derby (on site Rolls‑Royce)
Hours: 40hrs per week (Monday to Friday)
What this job involves: We are looking for an experienced Electrician to carry out service maintenance works on commercial sites in Derby. The successful candidate will provide a professional service to our clients working on a varied selection of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Installation and Maintenance: Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, security systems, emergency lighting, and access control.
* Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspection of low voltage electrical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and relevant codes. Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately.
* Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in low voltage electrical systems, using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques. Carry out repairs and replacements as necessary to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
* Preventive Maintenance: Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime, increase system reliability, and extend the lifespan of low voltage electrical systems. Create and maintain maintenance schedules.
* Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Comply with electrical regulations, codes, and standards to ensure safety and minimise risks. Report any hazards or incidents promptly.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and clients to achieve project goals and customer satisfaction. Provide guidance and support to junior team members when required.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, work orders, and equipment inventory. Ensure that relevant documentation and records are up to date.
Experience
* C&G Level 2 and 3 Diploma Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
* C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (Test & Inspection certification preferred)
* 18th edition
* Strong electrical & HVAC experience
* Knowledge of heating and air‑conditioning systems
* Knowledge of building fabric and experience carrying out basic fabric‑reactive repairs when required
* Sound understanding and experience of meeting Health & Safety obligations for maintenance activities
* Must be prepared to work out of hours when required
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Positive ‘can‑do’ attitude
* Must hold a full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
