Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Paver to join our team. As a Paver, you will be responsible for laying asphalt, concrete, or other materials on roads, driveways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces. The ideal candidate will have experience in surface preparation, operating paving machines, and ensuring smooth and level installations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate paving machines, rollers, and other equipment to lay asphalt or concrete.
* Prepare surfaces for paving by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers.
* Measure and mark areas to be paved, ensuring proper alignment and thickness.
* Mix and apply materials, ensuring proper consistency and application.
* Monitor the quality of the work to meet specifications, ensuring smooth, even surfaces.
* Assist with the maintenance and repair of paving equipment.
* Follow safety protocols and wear required protective gear at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion.
* Perform routine inspections of work areas and maintain a clean and safe job site.
* Communicate with project managers or forepersons to address issues and provide progress updates.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Paver or in a related construction role is preferred.
* Ability to operate paving machinery, including pavers, rollers, and other construction equipment.
* Knowledge of materials and techniques used in paving.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
* Physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
* Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment, often in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Valid driver's license may be required.
* Work is typically performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
* May involve long hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
The job may require occasional travel to different job sites.
