Service Engineer
My client is a market leader in the manufacture, installation, and servicing of automated food processing and packaging machinery. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their engineering team and are looking to recruit a Service Engineer on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased engineer who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving. Excellent earning potential and benefits with structured training in place.
Core Hours: Monday – Friday Days 40 Hours
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of automated machinery at customer sites across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and rapid response to breakdowns.
Service Engineer key responsibilities include:
Attending emergency breakdowns and restoring failed systems under pressure
Planned maintenance and coordination with customers
Installation, commissioning, and servicing of machinery and equipment
Fault finding and diagnostic checks
Providing telephone helpdesk support and technical advice
Completing detailed written service reports
Essential Requirements
Electrical or mechanical background supported by formal qualifications
Experience working in a food processing, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment
Proven ability to install, maintain, and commission machinery
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Full UK driving licence
You will have current or recent experience as a field service engineer, service technician, maintenance engineer, electrical fitter, electro-mechanical fitter, system builder or electrical technician.

8 statutory bank plus 26 days (increasing by 1 day for every 5 years’ service, up to 5 extra days)
Initial expected earning including usual site travel and overtime is £42 – 45K, basic (£32 - 34K)
