Job Title: Social Worker - Children in Care and Care Leavers Service
Location: Newcastle

They are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our dynamic team. As a Social Worker in the Children in Care and Care Leavers Service, you will play a crucial role in supporting and advocating for children and young people who are in the care system or transitioning into independent living. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals and contribute to their overall well-being and development
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and create care plans for children and young people in accordance with statutory requirements and best practices
Provide direct support and intervention to children in care and care leavers, addressing their emotional, educational, and practical needs
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including education professionals, health services, and external agencies, to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to care
Advocate for the rights and interests of children and young people, promoting their participation in decision-making processes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies
Participate in regular supervision, training, and continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Experience
Social Work qualification and registration with the relevant regulatory body
Proven experience in working with children in care or care leavers
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Commitment to promoting the welfare and best interests of children and young people
