Responsibilities
Class Teacher (Music)
* Undertake class‑teaching duties
* Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction
* Develop the school curriculum
* Assess, record and report on the work of pupils
* Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration
* Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
* Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils
* Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
* Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL)
* Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review
* Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school
Visiting Specialist of Music
* Teach a designated subject (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) in line with Curriculum for Excellence
* Teach assigned classes in line with Curriculum for Excellence
* Prepare lessons and courses
* Undertake development of the curriculum
* Contribute to the assessment and reporting on the work of pupils
* Contribute to the professional development of colleagues
* Consult with and assist colleagues on subject specific education issues
* Participate in the organisation of the school to contribute to the school development plan and policies as considered appropriate by the Head Teacher
* Maintain good order and discipline among pupils and safeguard their health and safety
* Advise and guide pupils on issues related to their education
* Work co‑operatively as part of a team
Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
* Class Teacher (Music) – Appropriate primary qualification; Permanent posts: GTCS Full registration (General); Temporary posts: GTCS Full registration (General) / Provisional registration
* Visiting Specialist of Music – GTCS registration in subject advertised (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) or GTCS registered Primary Teacher with a degree in that subject
