Mechanical Technician
Thetford, Norfolk based
£35,000 - £39,500 (plus company vehicle, bonus and benefits)
A Mechanical Technician is wanted on a permanent basis by a global client of ours who is at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. In this role, the successful candidate will carry out planned mechanical maintenance, managing work permits and isolations, and ensuring assets are kept in good working order. This is a mobile role requiring travel between sites, providing operational support, and responding to breakdowns and emergencies when needed.
This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of between £35,000 - £39,500 dependent upon experience and qualifications plus company vehicle, bonus and benefits.
Overview of the Mechanical Technician role:
* Working under a SSOW and after training issue and accept work permits when required.
* Carry out scheduled mechanically oriented maintenance tasks in accordance with the Asset Maintenance Management System.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping to ensure that all facilities, plant and equipment are maintained in an efficient working manner.
Key skills required for the Mechanical Technician role:
* The successful candidate will possess a recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification relevant to the role, industry relevant safety training such as CSCS or CCNSG.
* A full driving licence with access to a car, and the ability to travel to sites across the company network, including occasional overnight stays. They should be able to understand site rules and procedures and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, including telephone communication.
* Any knowledge of working in a COMAH environment, confined space training, first response firefighting training, and first aid certification would be highly desirable.
