Public Health Commissioning Development Officer
Ref: 2683 • PO2: £44,937 pa rising to £47,925 pa incl LW. • 12-month secondment/ fixed-term contract, full time.
About the Team
Public Health Team (over 50 staff from multiple disciplines). Two CDO roles are available: one focusing on Sexual Health Commissioning and one on Substance Misuse Commissioning.
Role Overview
Appointed to one of the programmes (Sexual Health/HIV or Substance Misuse). Support commissioning exercises throughout the year.
Focus on high quality commissioning, coordination and project coordination within Public Health. Responsibilities include maintaining capacity, documenting, contract monitoring, coordinating communication, supporting service reviews, needs assessments and strategy development, and presenting outcomes to stakeholders where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining and updating data, reports and commissioning documentation.
* Assisting with contract management processes, monitoring returns and performance information.
* Coordinating communication with internal teams, providers and external partners.
* Supporting the collation of information for service reviews, needs assessments and strategy development, presenting outcomes to stakeholders where appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
You do not need prior experience in sexual health, HIV, substance misuse or commissioning, though this is desirable.
We are looking for strong transferable skills: organisational, project management, data management, relationship management. Attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, confidence working with data, strong communication skills, proactive approach, conscientiousness, initiative and willingness to learn.
Comfortable using Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, OneNote and Excel or willing to develop these skills.
Contract Details
Fixed term 12 months. Candidates who previously applied need not reapply.
