As the role involves a ‘Technical Sell’ of a new type of Corrugator Machinery into the UK Market our Client will also give equal consideration to Candidates from a more Senior Operational level as a thorough understanding of how a Sheet Converter Company operates is essential.
Our Client is establishing themselves as a disruptor in the field of Corrugator Machinery by introducing an innovative ‘Cold’ Corrugator product – by not using steam the cold corrugator is 90% smaller and cheaper – using less energy than a conventional corrugator.
This allows production to be decentralised and moved to the point of need – this is a fantastic opportunity to get in at the beginning of an enterprise with a new and groundbreaking product offering.
Interest levels are therefore expected to be high in the sector because of the range of benefits that Cold Corrugation can bring.
This is a truly exciting Sales Development and ‘capital expenditure client’ facing role with the primary focus of getting UK sales under way at scale and pace by building awareness and winning new business directly with our Client’s target Sheet Converting market.
Company Profile.
The company has been established for a number of years and was founded to create a new corrugation process that is cost-efficient and environmentally friendly – while at the same time producing better results.
The company now intends to establish itself with a wide variety of UK Sheet Converters and End Users, the role involving selling the range of benefits that cold corrugation can bring to their brand – especially when bearing in mind the direction that energy costs are taking.
They are a private equity backed green-technology packaging equipment manufacturer who own the Intellectual Property and have manufacturing underway of a highly innovative clean technology that helps their customers produce corrugated board without using steam in the manufacturing process.
When established in the role there is a high degree of autonomy.
You will report directly to the CEO who is based in the UK – this direct line of reporting gives clarity and shortens the decision making process and is indicative of the elevated importance of the role.
Being comfortable working remotely is an important part of the role – for this key hire the intention is to meet up with colleagues one or two days a week so that support can be provided during on-boarding. The successful Candidate will be completely self sufficient thereafter.
Ideal Candidate Profile.
A thorough understanding of how a sheet converter operates is vital.
The successful Candidate must be able to get the USPs of the Product across to Managing Directors and Operations Managers at Sheet Converting Companies and be fully conversant with the issues they have and have an understanding of what their customers want.
Each sheet converter will be different in the type of work they produce and the kit they produce it on therefore the successful candidate needs to be able to assess and present the business case of the cold corrugator technology for each customer’s factory which may involve a detailed survey of their order book and buying patterns.
To that end the Client is open minded to prospective candidate coming from a more Operational background rather than a Sales one.
However the successful candidate needs to be able to Present regularly at Board Level, it will prove to be easier to get initial appointments because this is a significant disruptive product that the market will be interested in – this is not a ‘Me Too’ Product offering.
The Client is willing to provide support where necessary with joint visits in the initial stages of the appointment – the specific Technical knowledge on this type of Corrugator is something they are prepared to train the successful Candidate on
The ideal characteristics for the role include an engaging personality, ability to work well independently, first class communication skills, a high level of energy and an entrepreneurial attitude.
The job will involve going into customer’s factories so you must be prepared to be ‘hands on’.
There is significant opportunity for progression and to be a key figure in helping the company implement their ambitious growth plans.
Our Client also plans to build a strong presence in Europe and North America; considering the establishment of channel partners and agents.
With the right experience the role could extend into these areas.
