For our location in Haywards Heath (UK), we are looking for a highly organized team player to join our Fragrances department as a Fragrance Development Manager (f/m/d), to play a key role in our local fragrance evaluation team and grow our UK & Scandinavia business.
Your Responsibilities:
Fragrance development for customer projects
* Lead and manage fragrance development projects across multiple product categories (fine fragrance, personal care, home fragrance, household, laundry etc.)
* Work closely with the perfumery, marketing, product development, R&D, and commercial teams to ensure smooth project completion.
* Provide creative input and technical expertise throughout the fragrance development process, ensuring that fragrances are both commercially viable and aligned with customer expectations.
* Oversee and manage fragrance evaluation, testing, and validation processes, all the way to launch support when successful, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
* Be the internal expert and advocate for fragrances, with passion & positivity.
* Identify areas for growth by upgrading or attacking existing ranges, stimulating projects and converting those with a high win rate.
* Develop relationships across all departments and levels of the organisation to position Mane as the partner of choice of our customers (product development, procurement, supply chains, R&D, RAPS, marketing, their sales teams etc.).
Category management and external intimacy
* For the categories or customers under your responsibility, drive fragrance trend research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and incorporate consumer insights into fragrance development.
* Link with other regional and global category teams to share knowledge and cross-fertilize ideas.
* Proactivity in our value proposition to identify new opportunities and maximise our conversion of these.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative fragrance solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
* Maintain relationships with key suppliers, customers, and external partners to ensure smooth collaboration and successful project execution.
* Take part in customer meetings and external events to drive intimacy with key stakeholders, understand their taste preferences and position Mane as a partner of choice.
Internal synergies
* Maximise the full set of Mane capabilities & existing fragrance collections for the benefit of our customers and our commercial agenda.
* Partake in task forces or cross-functional initiatives beyond day-to-day activities to drive our agenda on strategic priorities and help define our business of tomorrow.
* Deliver clear and timely reports on fragrance development progress, including key milestones, timelines, technical reports and budget adherence.
* Maintain high stakeholder engagement with relevant business updates, workshops as relevant, account plans reviews and across the board transparent & clear communication.
* Support and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation. Seek feedback and learning opportunities from senior team members.
* Impeccable service in partnership with all internal teams involved and in respect of all service level agreements & internal policies.
Your Profile
* Valid right-to-work status in the UK at the time of application.
* Minimum 3-10 years of experience in fragrance development across multiple product categories, such as fine fragrance, personal care, home fragrance, household, and laundry applications.
* Strong knowledge of fragrance formulation, application techniques, and fragrance testing methods.
* Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French would be a plus.
* University degree in chemistry, perfumery, or a related technical field.
* Proven track record in developing fragrances in answer to customer briefs but also with proactive initiative.
* A creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative fragrance concepts.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* A solution-oriented approach with the ability to handle challenges and find effective solutions.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a collaborative and innovative team culture, and to share fragrance knowledge in an educational way externally.
* Proficiency in using digital tools for project management and communication.
