Our client, a global name in heavy-duty mobile equipment, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, youll play a key role in the design, integration, and testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. Youll be part of a collaborative team, delivering robust engineering solutions across a range of innovative equipment and machinery. Responsibilities & day to day duties As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical systems for heavy-duty mobile equipment. Use 3D CAD tools (ideally Siemens Solid Edge, NX, or Teamcenter) to produce and revise part and assembly models, drawings, and hydraulic schematics. Support or lead cross-functional design efforts involving hydraulic, electrical, and software systems. Collaborate with engineering, production, and support teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery of new designs and modifications. Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation activities to meet performance and safety requirements. Prepare technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, and user manuals. Assist with on-site troubleshooting, testing, and production support as required. Help estimate project timelines, costs, and resource needs, while monitoring progress to ensure targets are met. Skills & experience required. Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, ideally within heavy machinery, mobile equipment, or a related industry. Proficient in 3D CAD software; experience with Siemens Solid Edge, NX, or Teamcenter is highly desirable. Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. Ability to work independently and take ownership of design projects from concept through to completion. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines. Hands-on approach to problem-solving with experience supporting production and testing environments. Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
