Location: Bradford/ Leeds - Hybrid Working (a mix of office and home working) Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday Friday between the working window of 8:00am-6:00pm. We have an exciting opportunity for an Senior Energy Analyst (Data & Reporting) to join the Energy Team within the wider Commercial Services team at Yorkshire Water. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the regions health, wellbeing, and prosperity. New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry. The Energy team are responsible for the energy costs of Yorkshire Water and with 4,200 operational sites across Yorkshire, energy costs are a significant proportion of Yorkshire Waters Opex therefore being able to accurately report on energy performance is crucial all the way up to Executive Level. The scope includes data from purchased energy, renewables generation, third party recharges and operational data and is the basis for regulatory APR reporting, carbon reporting and compliance auditing by our regulators. Where you fit in You will help deliver data and reporting projects and establish a centralised self-serve energy hub for the Yorkshire Water business. High quality data sets and performance reports are vital for building energy strategy business cases and giving visibility into business plan performance across our different business areas. You will work with industry third parties including our TPI and work closely with internal Finance and Operations teams. Utilising an understanding of energy industry regulation and practice, you will provide analytical skills, data handling expertise and energy industry knowledge to support a wide range of business objectives. You will support the Energy Team in streamlining the collection, cleansing, analysis and sharing of energy data reports relating to costs and usage of both consumed and renewable energy across the Business. There will be some crossover with metering workstreams, contract management and billing operations. Some of the key responsibilities include the following Work with Energy Manager to provide volume forecasting, business planning and risk management information Ensure timely receipt of energy data from third parties and internal sources and undertake specialist detailed and complex troubleshooting activities as necessary Work with colleagues in Operations and Finance on provision and collection of periodic reporting information Deliver new and enhanced energy reporting services that meet business requirements through business process analysis, data cleansing, configuration, testing and successful deployment Support regulatory submissions for renewable generation annual performance reports including carbon What skills and qualifications you will need: Previous experience within the energy and utilities industry and experience of energy regulatory processes and working with energy suppliers, meter operators, DNOs. Excellent IT skills, proficient user of all MS Office Applications Excellent data cleansing, manipulation and report building skills using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, PowerBI Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage and organise heavy workloads, prioritising relevant business needs. Good attention to detail. Analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to understand and liaise with others, this could be colleagues, managers and external contractors Able to be resilient under pressure and is self-reliant with a personal drive for continuous development, demonstrating a strong customer service ethos The role will involve travel to different sites across Yorkshire, therefore you will need a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points. We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1-2 days in the office per week.
