Saints Foundation bring Southampton FC to the heart of the community, using the power of the club and our passionate team to help fulfil individual potential and make Southampton a better place to live for all. Through our Health pillar of work, our aim is to ‘Support adults and young people with health inequalities to stay healthy, active, and connected, encouraging them to lead fulfilled lives’. This role will involve creating and delivering a match day activation working in partnership with local mental health organisations, to engage with supporters on a matchday. Whilst ensuring all events are delivered to a standard that will achieve our proposed outcomes. What will you be doing? As part of this role, you will be supporting the development and delivery of match day activations that align with the Premier League Suicide Prevention project. This involves engaging with fans and creating awareness around mental health in a football setting. You will work closely with the Casual Suicide Prevention Match Day Lead and other casual staff members to effectively deliver the Suicide Prevention Project. This collaboration is key to ensuring the project’s objectives are met across all levels. Engagement with supporters and partners is a central aspect of the role. You will be interacting both within the Extra Time Hub and around the footprint of the stadium, helping to build relationships and promote mental health awareness in the community. Another key responsibility is the development and delivery of Mental Health First Aid training for staff and volunteers within Saints Foundation and Southampton Football Club. This training is essential for building a supportive and informed environment throughout the organisation. You will also be responsible for collecting and organising insight and impact data, in line with the project’s insight and impact plan. Monitoring progress and outcomes is crucial for measuring the effectiveness of the initiative. Finally, part of your role will involve signposting supporters to appropriate mental health services when needed, ensuring they receive the help and support required in a timely and compassionate manner.
