The role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy warehouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on warehouse professional with strong leadership skills, a commitment to health and safety, and experience managing warehouse operations, shipments, and materials handling equipment.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:30am 6:00pm / Sunday to Thursday, 9:30am 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organise and prioritise daily warehouse workloads to meet operational deadlines.
Supervise warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments.
Load and unload vehicles and containers safely and efficiently.
Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment as required.
Carry out warehouse administration duties, including receipt and booking-in of shipments using warehouse management systems.
Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
Conduct regular warehouse inspections, health and safety checks, and audits.
Ensure compliance with company health and safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain the physical security of the warehouse and its contents.
Liaise with warehouse staff, drivers, import/export teams, management, and third-party transport providers.
Assist with problem-solving and operational issues as they arise.
Maintain ETSF records and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Occasionally drive company vehicles for the collection and delivery of cargo.
Key Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role.
Valid and current Forklift Truck Licence.
Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Accurate, methodical, and detail-oriented approach to work.
Ability to identify and resolve operational issues effectively.
Experience with warehouse management systems and administration tasks.
