Working closely with the Business Development Team, this role plays a key part in securing new business by preparing compelling pre-qualification and tender proposals.\n\nThe successful candidate will have a strong background in bid writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments to ensure high-quality submissions.
Industry experience is not essential, but experience in a business-to-business or public sector environment is required.\n\nThis is an excellent chance to break into a niche industry without prior experience, gaining valuable sector knowledge while applying and developing your bid writing expertise in a well-established and supportive environment.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Manage the full tender process from start to submission.\n\n * Conduct research to gather relevant data, case studies, and success stories to strengthen proposals.\n\n * Analyse client RFP documents to fully understand scope, objectives, and submission requirements.\n\n * Collaborate with Sales, IT, Finance, Legal, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.\n\n * Define win strategies and craft well-structured responses that highlight the company’s capabilities and value proposition.\n\n * Maintain and develop an up-to-date tender information library.\n\n * Complete responses to RFIs (Request for Information) and assist Sales Teams with RFPs (Request for Pricing).\n\n * Proofread responses for accuracy and alignment with client specifications.\n\n * Maintain an active log of all tender opportunities and progress.\n\n * Update CRM sales system to reflect progress and completion.\n\n * Build relationships with support function heads to keep the information library up to date.\n\n * Work closely with Sales teams across the business to guide RFI and RFP responses.\n\n * Assist the Marketing Director with case studies, website copy, and press releases.\n\n * Attend client briefing meetings when required.\n\nExperience & Skills Required:\n\n * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bid writing.\n\n * Strong writing, editing, and research skills.\n\n * Experience in a business-to-business or public sector environment.\n\n * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels of management.\n\n * Strong business writing skills and an understanding of procurement and commercial buying sectors.\n\n * Ability to interpret tender requests and design appropriate responses.\n\n * Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to detail.\n\n * Excellent IT skills and proficiency in relevant software.\n\n * Organised with strong time management skills.\n\n * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Bid Writer to join a respected company and play a vital role in securing new business.
