The Role
We're looking for a skilled Data Center Technician in Blyth, United Kingdom to provide on-site technical support at local data center facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Remote Hands & Smart Hands support (cabling, power cycling, hardware swaps)
* Server rack installation and decommissioning
* Cross-connect and patch panel management
* Hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics
* Visual inspections and inventory audits
* Escort and access coordination for client visits
* Emergency response and on-call availability
Requirements
* Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure
* Knowledge of server hardware, networking, and cabling standards
* Reliable transportation and proximity to local data centers
* Strong communication skills in English
* Ability to lift 25kg+ equipment
* Flexible availability including weekends/holidays for urgent requests
Nice to Have
* Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Network+, CDCP, CCNA
* Experience at major DC providers (Equinix, Digital Realty, NTT, CyrusOne)
* Structured cabling expertise (fiber, Cat6, DAC)
* Data center or IT infrastructure experience
* Server hardware and networking knowledge
* Reliable and professional with strong communication
* Proximity to local data center facilities
* Flexible schedule for on-call/emergency work
