Role
Project Manager (Civils) - Rolls-Royce Derby & Raynesway. This role is based on site and requires qualification to at least HNC/HND in civil and/or construction discipline with experience in planning and executing programmes for Civil/Construction projects.
Responsibilities
* Deliver multi‑disciplined projects and packages associated with building engineering services and construction, estimating, construction engineering design, procurement, cost control, site management, installation, testing, commissioning, handover, and warranty as part of a team.
* Develop effective working relationships with fellow team members and clients to maximise opportunities to secure and win new work.
* Provide technical engineering advice to team members and clients to support successful execution of the work; ensure Project Engineering services are delivered safely to programme, within budget and to the agreed quality standards.
* Work with clients to develop relationships that result in repeat business.
* Ensure Project Engineering and technical standards are maintained throughout the project, meeting specification requirements and in accordance with Quality Management Systems and Control.
* Ensure project risk is managed and communicated; report to SPIE management on project progress, issues, risks, and opportunities.
* Demonstrate experience with NEC3 framework contracts (advantageous) and strong H&S management awareness.
* Develop strong financial awareness with good organisational skills; experience in project financial control and forecasting; labour management experience.
* Produce project reports and meet deadlines; sequence and programme works using different planning and programming methods/techniques to meet client and project requirements.
* Produce O&M manuals and drawings/documents; survey and report on existing installations; monitor progress and report findings.
* Travel and work on-site or from office as required; basic skills and knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret drawings.
* Maintain good communications and interpersonal skills to develop client relationships and contribute to business growth.
* Willingness to take on additional duties after suitable training, such as Temporary works co-ordinator/ Appointed person.
* Review subcontractor RAMS to ensure safe working practices on site and SPIE procedures are followed.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND in civil and/or construction discipline (or equivalent).
* Experience in planning and executing programmes for Civil/Construction projects.
* Experience in project financial control and forecasting; strong organisational skills.
* Strong H&S management awareness and the ability to manage project risk.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings; basic AutoCAD knowledge.
* Good communications and interpersonal skills to develop client relationships and present information effectively.
* Willingness to travel and work on-site or at client locations as required.
