We’re looking for an experienced Tech Lead (.NET) to lead the design and delivery of high-quality, scalable applications built on the modern Microsoft technology stack. You will act as the hands‑on technical leader for your delivery team or domain, ensuring architectural direction is realised through robust, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Role Overview
This role sits within the digital engineering function and focuses on delivery leadership, technical execution, and engineering excellence. You will translate strategic architectural direction into practical implementation, while shaping ways of working, mentoring engineers, and building strong, long‑term relationships with product, platform, and architecture partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the technical authority for your team, setting clear technical direction aligned to engineering strategy and pillars.
* Provide hands‑on leadership through code reviews, pairing, and technical design guidance.
* Coach and mentor engineers across all levels, supporting skills development, career progression, and engineering maturity.
* Design, build, and evolve scalable solutions using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core (MVC and Web API), React Native (mobile development).
* Apply clean architecture, domain‑driven design, and SOLID principles to produce maintainable and testable codebases.
* Champion a strong testing culture, ensuring quality is built in from design through to production.
* Define and implement testing strategies covering unit, integration, contract, performance, and security testing.
* Work closely with Product Owners to shape technical solutions that align to product vision and roadmap.
* Partner with Scrum Masters to continuously improve team ways of working and delivery flow.
* Actively contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Support effective backlog refinement, estimation, and technical dependency management.
* Leverage Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e.g. Bicep, Terraform, ARM, CDK) to automate environments and deployments.
* Improve developer experience and delivery efficiency through tooling, automation, and pipeline optimisation
What we’re Looking For
* Strong experience with C# and .NET in production environments. Experience with mobile technologies like ReactNative.
* Hands‑on experience building applications using ASP.NET Core (MVC and Web API) and mobile technologies -React Native.
* Experience operating as a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer within Agile delivery teams.
* Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services.
* Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL data stores.
* Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.
* Proven experience implementing automated testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong understanding of secure, scalable application architecture and performance optimisation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with microservices, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and event‑driven architectures.
* Experience with messaging and eventing technologies.
* Familiarity with observability and monitoring tooling.
* Exposure to frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Blazor.
* Experience facilitating technical, architectural, or product discovery workshops.
