Bring your passion for print to life at the University of Bath as our new Digital Print Assistant!
Join our Creative Services team and be at the heart of producing high‑quality printed materials that support students, staff, and visitors across the University. From dissertations and theses to lecture notes, handbooks, flyers, posters, banners, business stationery, invitations, and name badges – you’ll help turn ideas into polished, professional print products.
Responsibilities
* Prepare, modify, and impose digital files for printing using software such as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
* Produce proofs, typeset business stationery, and offer technical advice to customers, ensuring every print job is accurate, high‑quality, and cost‑effective.
* Operate and maintain digital print and finishing equipment safely, including colour calibration, ordering consumables, and arranging service calls.
* Support mail merges, small letter mailings, and the production of name badges.
* Contribute to maintaining departmental web pages, updating processes and procedures, and supporting the training of new staff.
* Occasionally work evenings or weekends to assist with high‑profile University events such as Open Days.
About you
You are a motivated and customer‑focused individual who takes pride in delivering high‑quality print and finishing services. You thrive in a busy, dynamic environment and enjoy helping others achieve their goals through excellent customer service and attention to detail.
Qualifications
* At least 1 year of experience in a digital print production environment and in a customer‑facing role.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign.
* Experience typesetting for business stationery such as business cards, letterheads, envelopes, and invitations.
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to advise and guide customers on file preparation, colour, and paper quality.
* A talent for identifying and handling details accurately, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
* Flexibility, a positive attitude, and the initiative to solve problems and suggest improvements.
