About the Role
This office-based position offers an excellent opportunity to join a specialist New Homes team that focuses on plot sales for housebuilders and new build property purchases for individual clients. Working under the guidance of experienced lawyers, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring clients receive exceptional service throughout their property buying journey. This is a hands-on role that offers varied responsibilities and the chance to develop comprehensive conveyancing skills in a fast-paced environment.
Conveyancing Paralegal Responsibilities
* Open and manage client files from instruction to completion
* Prepare standard form contract documentation and legal paperwork
* Conduct client ID checks and maintain compliance procedures
* Handle client enquiries and provide regular progress updates
* Liaise with developers and provide detailed progress reports
* Assist lawyers with exchange of contracts and completion processes
* Prepare and file Stamp Duty Land Tax returns
* Manage registration of title with HM Land Registry
* Close and archive completed files in accordance with firm procedures
* Support the wider team with ad-hoc tasks as required
Conveyancing Paralegal Requirements
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively as part of a busy, collaborative team
* Positive 'can-do' attitude with flexibility to adapt to varying task requirements
* Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with examples from previous roles
* Interest in property law and development work
* Graduate qualification preferred (any discipline considered)
* Commitment to working in the Exeter office 5 days per week
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
