This role sits within the firm’s legal risk and compliance team and will involve advising on conflicts issues relating to new business intake, lateral hires, and ongoing client matters across a broad range of international practice areas. The successful individual will work closely with lawyers and senior internal stakeholders to identify, assess, and help resolve conflicts issues efficiently while contributing to wider strategic and operational improvements within the function.
Key Responsibilities
* Review, analyse, and assess conflicts reports relating to new matters and lateral hires
* Advise lawyers and business stakeholders on conflicts, risk, and resolution strategies
* Prepare concise summaries highlighting key issues and proposed next steps
* Assist with drafting and reviewing waiver letters, engagement terms, and information barriers
* Support the development and enhancement of conflicts processes and procedures
* Deliver training and guidance on conflicts-related matters across the business
* Assist with the mentoring, training, and supervision of junior conflicts team members
* Work collaboratively with legal and operational teams to ensure matters are progressed efficiently
This role would suit a qualified lawyer with strong experience, (at least 4 years) handling conflicts analysis and resolution within a law firm environment. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of professional conduct and conflicts rules, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to advise senior legal professionals on complex matters. The successful individual will be analytical, highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced international environment.
