Alleyn's Junior School are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Visiting Music Teacher (VMT), Teacher of Guitar to begin teaching from the start of the 2026/27 academic year in September 2026. The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate primary aged pupils through engaging individual guitar lessons, teaching a broad range of styles including classical, rock, and pop. Pupils typically begin guitar in Years 5 and 6, so most learners will be beginners, though some may have prior experience. The school runs ABRSM examinations each term and Trinity College London examinations twice a year, so experience in preparing pupils for graded exams is desirable. The deadline for applications is midnight on Thursday 26 March 2026. If you have any questions or would like to discuss an application, you are very welcome to contact the HR Department (jobs@alleyns.org.uk, 020 8613 5016). The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Alleyn’s is an Equal Opportunities employer. Alleyn’s welcomes applications from all applicants who meet the requirements for the position. However, we are especially keen to receive applications from those in minority groups for which the school is currently underrepresented. We celebrate diversity and thrive on the benefits it brings.
