Duty and Advice Social Worker

Salary: £42,839 - £47,181 per annum (Grade 8)
Hours: 36.66 per week

Role Overview
You will work as part of a co‑located multi‑agency team that includes representatives from Greater Manchester Police, Health, Community Safety, Adult Social Care, IDVA and the Prevention Hub. As a Duty and Advice social worker, you will respond to contacts made to the MASH in a timely way to identify and secure the most appropriate services to support and safeguard children and families. You will communicate with families, partner agencies and the public to enable evidence‑based decision making in line with our practice standards and statutory duties. You will have a good understanding of statutory social worker functions and be confident in making informed threshold decisions.
Responsibilities
* Respond to contacts to the Duty and Advice team promptly.
* Gather information from families, partner agencies and the public to assess need.
* Use evidence‑based decision making to determine appropriate services.
* Ensure compliance with statutory duties and practice standards.
* Participate in multi‑agency meetings and case conferences.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered social worker with relevant statutory knowledge.
* Confidence in making threshold decisions.
* Experience in child protection, safeguarding and multi‑agency working preferred.
