We are looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef wanting to deliver a first‑class experience at the world leading hospitality company PortsmouthMarriott Hotel. Located near famous landmarks such as the Spinnaker Tower has a range of amenities including: Cast Iron Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant andfitness centre.

As the Junior Sous Chef you will…
* Supervise and coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation for property banquets and events and restaurant for all meal times including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
* Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
* Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications.
* Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities are Met.
* Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
* Collaborate successfully with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
* Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
* Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
* Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
* Manages day‑to‑day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers daily
* Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
* Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
A successful Junior Sous Chef is someone who…

* Can communicate clearly (verbal, listening, writing)
* Is proactive, reliable and can support shifts including weekends and bank holidays
* Has NVQ Level 1 and/or 2 (desirable)
