Role: Residential Support Worker

Salary: £26,000 per annum plus £50 per sleep-in

Location: High Wycombe

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time 37 hours and Part Time 30 hours per week.

A bit about the role

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

About the service

Merryfields is a 14 bed Short Break Residential Service providing 24-hour care for 5 to 18 year-olds with moderate to severe learning disabilities. We strive and work towards providing top tiered person – centered care. We also hold various activities on a day-to-day basis to encourage social experiences and promote equality and diversity throughout the service.

You will be passionate, committed, and resilient and yes, this role can at sometimes be emotionally and physically challenging but it's also fun, diverse and you will feel huge sense of reward by being able to help, in the best way possible If this all sounds ideal, then, you are exactly who we are looking for.

How you'll help to create brighter futures as a Residential Support Worker:

* Leading shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
* Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
* Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
* Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, and court work.
* Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
* Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements.

Let's talk about you.

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
* Experience of shift leading a team of support workers.
* Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns as agreed via the rolling rota.
* Experience and training in safeguarding.
* Experience of developing tailored care plans.
