We are looking for an experienced, motivated and inspirational Engineering Team Leader to manage a highly specialist team of MEICA engineers. You will lead and develop the team to deliver technical activities that support maintenance, refurbishment and new‑build projects across a diverse and complex asset base.
The role has a clear strategic focus. You will contribute to asset, maintenance and investment strategies, using performance data and risk‑based thinking to improve reliability, resilience and value for money, while supporting improvement initiatives and leading change across the MEICA portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a specialist team of MEICA engineers.
* Plan and deliver maintenance activities through a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
* Respond effectively to equipment failures and manage incident response.
* Ensure all MEICA activities meet required technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational standards.
* Balance day‑to‑day operational delivery with long‑term objectives across a wide geographical area and varied asset base.
* Work with a national community of practice and assurance teams to share learning and drive continuous improvement.
* Provide business continuity support when required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Chartered mechanical or electrical engineer.
* Proven MEICA engineering experience with team leadership responsibility.
* Strong technical judgment and understanding of safety and compliance.
* Experience managing maintenance using a CMMS.
* Ability to contribute to strategic planning and improvement.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach.
* Leading and developing people.
* Managing and embedding change.
* Influencing and persuading stakeholders.
* Working with customers and partners.
* Incident and operational risk management.
* Maintenance and asset management strategies.
* Technical support across 24/7 operational assets.
Benefits
* Salary: £54,940 plus £9,750 for Chartered MEICA engineer registered with IET or IMechE (pro‑rata for part time).
* Some travel required over two geographical areas, including office and site visits.
Role Specific Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Charted membership of IET or IMechE.
